Insomniac Games Turns Twenty: Happy Birthday Insomniac Games!

on February 28, 2014 7:45 PM

Exactly twenty years ago, on February 28th, 1994, Insomniac Games was founded in Burbank, California by Ted Price, Brian Hastings and Alex Hastings.

While they’ve been associated with Sony Computer Entertainment for a large part of their long history, giving birth to popular series like Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet & Clank and Resistance, they’ve recently walked different paths building a relationship with EA first and then with Microsoft Game Studios for the upcoming Sunset Overdrive.  They’ve surely come a long way since Disruptor, their first game for the original PlayStation released in 1996.

To help you travel the memory lane, below you can see a screencap of the first website of the company (courtesy of Insomniac forums user Toppot), also showing the original logo. Happy Birthday, Insomniac Games!

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
