After a strong start and slightly tepid middle section, PlayStation's September Showcase absolutely set the world on fire.

There was a deep look at God of War 2, now officially titled Ragnarok, a KOTOR remake, Uncharted PS5 and PC ports and arguably, most impressively not one but two new reveals from Insomniac games.

What was the story?

The studio is really living up to their "Insomniac" name after what's already been an already hectic few months.

At the tail end of last year, it released Spider-Man spinoff, Miles Morales and just a couple of months back, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart hit shelves.

However, rather than take a much-deserved break, today's PlayStation Showcase revealed a pair of Superhero titles from the developers - Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine.

Insomniac Wolverine Reveal

First up, a brand new Wolverine title was revealed shocking everybody watching the event.

You would have been forgiven for expecting the Spider-Man reveal when the Insomniac and Marvel logos appeared on screen, however, instead, a camera panned around a bar that had seen better days, before focusing on the titular hero, whose claws pop out in a recognisable fashion.

Sadly, all we were treated to was a CG trailer but it was more than enough to whet the appetite.

Spider-Man 2 Reveal

Following that, we were treated to the first look at

">Spider-Man 2, which is currently scheduled for 2023.

The trailer revealed tons of exciting details including a glimpse of Peter and Miles teaming up and Venom.

While this announcement was not wholly unexpected, given the success of both the original game and its recent spinoff, getting an Insomniac Wolverine game and a follow up to Spider-Man during one showcase is enough to get anybody excited.
