Insta-Forum: Which Games are You Most Excited for in 2019?

With 2018 now over, let's look forward to 2019 and the games we're most excited to play in the new year.

2018 was a great year for games. From mega-hits like God of War and Red Dead Redemption 2 to smaller indie darlings like Celeste and Dead Cells, it was a year that seemed to offer all kinds of games of varying genres that filled any need you might be looking for.

That said, 2018 is now in the past so it’s time to look ahead to the new year at hand: 2019. On paper, we already seem to be in for one of the busiest years in recent memory with the first quarter of 2019 already being packed with what looks to be many stellar releases.

Here are just a few of the major games that are slated to release this coming year:

  • Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown
  • Resident Evil 2
  • Kingdom Hearts III
  • Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes
  • God Eater 3
  • Crackdown 3
  • Dead or Alive 6
  • Jump Force
  • Metro Exodus
  • Far Cry New Dawn
  • Anthem
  • Left Alive
  • Devil May Cry V
  • Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
  • The Division 2
  • Days Gone
  • Mortal Kombat 11
  • Rage 2
  • Fire Emblem: Three Houses
  • In the Valley of Gods
  • Shenmue III
  • Gears 5
  • Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Look, we could keep going on and on here. In addition to many of the games listed above, there are still many others that we know are in the pipeline that we haven’t seen or heard from yet. From annual gaming pillars like the new Call of Duty, to more unknown quantities like the newest mainline Pokemon games, 2019 seems like it could be an even more stacked year than 2018. Plus, rumors have started floating about in regards to new gaming hardware, so it seems like this year could be the first that we hear of the next generation of consoles.

So with all of this being said, we want to know which game you, the faithful DualShockers’ readers, are looking forward to the most in this coming year. As we saw in your voting last month, you all seem to be quite excited for Kingdom Hearts III, but what else has you interested this year? Do you think it’ll be a better year than 2018? And what gaming moments, events, or conventions have you most excited? Be sure to let us know all of your hopes and dreams for the new year down in the comments. We’d love to hear from you.

As for us here on staff at DualShockers, we’ll be publishing a new series of editorials over the coming week or two discussing some of our own personal most-anticipated games. Stay tuned for those pieces in the coming days.
