While it seemed like a distant dream earlier this year, we're finally just about a month out from the release of both the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Sony and Microsoft have steadily been gearing up their marketing machines in the lead-up to the console launches, but most of all, part of the excitement around the next-gen launch are the new games coming on the horizon.

A month out from the launch of the systems, we have a pretty good idea of the launch line-ups for both the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S to date. On Sony's end, titles like Demon's SoulsMarvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales and more first-party titles are leading the charge along with other titles like Godfall and Bugsnax. On Microsoft's side, the Xbox Series X/S are mostly focusing on third-party titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold WarYakuza: Like a Dragon, and more, with Xbox Game Pass and backward compatibility ensuring that you'll have a lot to play during launch.

For our latest Insta-Forum, we want to ask the DualShockers community: Which next-gen game are you planning to play first on either the PS5 or Xbox Series X/S? Which game do you want to play the most for the start of a new console generation and why? Are you looking forward to single-player games or playing with your friends in multiplayer titles? Let us know in the comments below.

Personally, I'm likely looking forward to playing Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Demon's Souls as my first next-gen games when the PS5 arrives. For the Xbox Series X, I'm not 100% sure yet what game I'll play first there, but with games like Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Cyberpunk 2077 on the horizon, I wouldn't be surprised if one of those ends up as my first next-gen game for Xbox. Or, at the very least, I might dip back into a few of my backward compatible games to see how well they run on the new hardware.
