The PS5 and the Xbox Series X are a whole lot closer to release now than they were earlier in the year, and we're finally in the homestretch towards the debut of next-gen. With the Xbox Series X officially launching in November and the PS5 (presumably) debuting in a similar timeframe, that leaves us with under three months until Microsoft and Sony finally bring their next-gen consoles to everyone this holiday season, despite some of the setbacks from the coronavirus pandemic. However, there's still some important info we're waiting to hear on both systems; namely, their prices.

Given that we're so close to the release of both systems, it's been somewhat surprising that we still don't know what the cost of either the PS5 and Xbox Series X yet. Both Sony and Microsoft seem reluctant to be the first to share the price of their consoles, but with the clock ticking, we'll have to know sooner rather than later what we'll be spending on the next-gen systems.

With that being said, for our latest Insta-Forum we want to turn to the DualShockers community and get in your final predictions: What do you think will be the price of the PS5 or Xbox Series X? Who do you think will share their price announcement first? Let us know in the comments below.

Neither Sony or Microsoft have officially confirmed just yet what the price of their systems will be, but most speculation seems to be guessing that the consoles could be within the $499 price range. The PS5 will have two different versions at launch--one system with a disc drive, and one without--while Microsoft will also seemingly have two iterations of its console coming as well, with the Xbox Series S confirmed by recent controller leaks. Presumably we'll see both the Digital Edition of the PS5 and the Xbox Series S come in at a lower price tag, but it remains to be seen what the prices will come out to all together.

Personally, I'm predicting the Xbox Series X and the PS5 (with the disc drive) to come in at $499, while the PS5 Digital Edition and Xbox Series S will be coming in at $399. Realistically I could see the premium consoles coming in even higher at $599, given that it seems like both systems will be a bit more expensive to manufacture. However, I'm sure Sony and Microsoft are both dreading bringing their systems at too high of a price point (especially in the wake of the pandemic), but hopefully we won't have to wait too much longer to learn more before their release this holiday season.
