Interview: Alex Hutchinson Talks Assassin’s Creed 3 Mechanics, Gameplay, and Historical Accuracy

Among the highlights of our weekend at PAX East in Boston, at the very top of our collective list was when we were packed into the Assassin’s Creed III theater booth. Show attendees and press had a chance to watch a condensed (dare I say enhanced) version of the ACIII¬†preview that was shown a month prior at GDC.

Narrated by creative director Alex Hutchinson, the video highlighted what players can expect to play and see when the title releases this fall. Upon leaving the screening room, we had the opportunity to chat with Alex (who was mysteriously wearing the same outfit from the video, but had a perfectly good explanation for it). He broke down everything we just watched, and then some.

Assassin’s Creed III is at the top of our list for game of the show at PAX East and from what we’ve seen so far, probably a contender for Game of the Year as well. Seriously. If you need reasons why we feel that way, just do yourself a favor and watch the full interview below.
