Into Creates, the creators of acclaimed series such as Azure Striker Gunvolt and Gal Gun, has announced that they are working on a new IP titled Grim Guardians: Demon Purge. The brand new action platformer game will launch for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC via Steam. However, the exact release date has not been announced yet.

The announcement was made via a gameplay trailer released on Inti Creates' official YouTube channel, which you can find below. "Grim Guardians: Demon Purge starts two demon-hunting series, each with unique abilities! Switch between the two on the fly or play in 2-player co-op!" said the developer team. Additionally, the game will be showcased at the upcoming indie game event, BitSummit X-Roads, which will kick off on August 6th. You can watch the showcase featuring a batch of new announcements right here.

As seen in the gameplay trailer, Grim Guardians: Demon Purge will feature a wide array of enemies that will require players to create different combos or moves to kill. It is worth noting that some creatures you encounter will have defense mechanics, blocking your attacks to create long-running fights. You will also be able to see where monsters with frustrating durability will spawn on the screen. It means you will have enough time to think of which character you will use during the combat.

Speaking of characters, Grim Guardians: Demon Purge follows the story of two sisters who will aim to save their school from a demon invasion. Shinobu Kamizono and Maya Kamizono will be the two playable characters, which were established themselves as demon hunters in the beloved Gal Gun series. Players will be able to switch between characters during the fight to slay their foes in different ways. Each character will have unique abilities, allowing players to reflect their play style.

Going into more detail, Shinobu will use a rapid-fire submachine gun to kill enemies from a distance while the younger of the Kamizono family, Maya, will support her sister as a close-range attacker creating different weapons from origami. As we can see from the trailer, Inti Creates has already come a long way in the development process. In other news from Inti Creates, the studio also confirmed that Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 will make its way to PC this winter.
