Coming from the developers of the acclaimed indie title FTL: Faster Than Light, Subset Games, Into the Breach earned similar acclaim with its release earlier this year on PC thanks to its challenging (and addicting) strategy gameplay, and now the title is coming home and on-the-go to Switch owners, starting today.
During today’s Nindies Summer Showcase, Nintendo officially announced that not only was Into the Breach coming to Nintendo Switch, but sweetened the deal by announcing that the game is now available on the Nintendo eShop for players to pick up and purchase digitally.
Given the success of past indie games that got surprise launches on the Switch such as Hollow Knight, hopefully Into the Breach will find a similar path to success with Switch owners, and especially with this being the game’s first console release outside of PC, to date.
For those that haven’t jumped into the game on PC, Into the Breach combines turn-based strategy where players must fend off forces of deadly monsters with the use of powerful mechs, which should make for an especially great portable gameplay experience thanks to the Nintendo Switch.
Into the Breach is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, and Linux.
