inXile Entertainment Working on a New RPG Project

It seems that inXile Entertainment, the developers behind Wasteland 2 and Torment: Tides of Numenera, have started working on a brand new RPG.

In an update posted on the Wasteland 2 Kickstarter page by Project Lead Chris Keenan, the studio dropped its first hints at the new title in development. Keenan wrote the following in the post:

Along with continued tuning of Wasteland 2, myself and a few others at the studio are beginning to work on another RPG that has been passionately demanded of us for a while now! It’s still quite early in the process, but we will have more news on that in the New Year.

A new RPG game that has been demanded from inXile Entertainment fans likely means it has some sort of ties to Brian Fargo’s history or a game that either Black Isle Studios or Interplay Entertainment were involved with in some way, like The Bard’s Tale, Baldur’s Gate or Icewind Dale, as possible games to draw inspiration from. Considering the success Wasteland 2 and Torment: Tides of Numenera saw on Kickstarter, I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of seeing some sort party based fantasy RPG that draws its inspiration from one of those games as the potential jumping off point, but there really isn’t much to go on at this point.

You can expect to hear more about inXile’s new RPG next year and also expect the release of Torment: Tides of Numenera at some point before the end of 2015.
