Just a few short months after the release of Hitman 2, developer IO Interactive has announced expansion plans.

Over on its official website today, IO announced that it is soon opening a new studio in Malmö, Sweden. “We are super excited and proud to announce IOI Malmö," said IO Interactive's CEO Hakan Abrak. "We will expand IOI to join a buzzling game developer community and bring our own unique IOI culture to this amazing town," he continued.

As for what IO will be working on at this new studio? Well, you guessed it: more Hitman. According to the blog post, IO Interactive's new office "will strengthen IO Interactive’s commitment to deliver exceptional content to the Hitman franchise, community and all our fans." Even though Hitman 2 launched back in November, it's still an ongoing game that will continue to see frequent updates for the foreseeable future.

IO says that the current office in Malmö is already up and running and they're excited to be a part of what they think will become the central point of game development in Scandinavia.

The studio's latest venture, Hitman 2, is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can check out our review of the title from last year if you haven't done so already.
