iRacing.com, one of the most popular and hardcore online racing simulations on the net, announced today that Nvidia will sponsor the iRacing.com NVIDIA Series.

Previously known as the iRacing.com World Championship Series Road Racing, the iRacing.com NVIDIA Series prompts online racers to compete on simulated Williams-Toyota FW31 Formula 1 cars on  many of the most famous race tracks of the world.

This isn't the first time Nvidia sponsors iRacing, as it already happened with the NVIDIA Cup, that involves races featuring the Mazda Mx5.

The 2011 iRacing.com NVIDIA Series is an eighteen race series broadcasted live www.iRacing.com every other Saturday. Winners of the overall championships will be awarded $18,000 in cash and prizes.

This seems to be a good time for new wannabe virtual drivers to try and join the hardcore crowd of iRacing, considering the implementation of version 2.0 and the promotion that grants two free months of gameplay to every new subscriber.
