GO Fest 2021: Is Chatot Good? Max CP, Best Moveset and If It Can Be Shiny

By Sam Woods

July 16, 2021

There are many Regional Pokemon in Pokemon GO that stop players from completing their Pokedex.

It’s events like GO Fest that relieve a lot of pressure from players, as Regional Pokemon migrate to different parts of the globe for the event.

This year, the likes of Chatot, Throh and Sawk will be appearing in locations that they’ve never been before – but that leaves players with a lot of questions.

Let’s take a look at Chatot, if it’s good, what its max CP is, what its best moveset is and whether you can be lucky enough to grab a shiny one at GO Fest.

How to Get Chatot at Go Fest

Niantic has confirmed that Chatot will only be available to players who have purchased a GO Fest ticket, so, unfortunately, those looking to play for free will be missing out.

The Flying-type Pokemon will be available as part of the Jungle habitat, which will have two rotations on the day. Bear in mind, it will only be attracted to incense and won’t be around in the wild.

Can It Be Shiny at GO Fest?

Unfortunately, there aren’t many Shiny Regional Pokemon in Pokemon GO and Chatot falls into that category and although Niantic is releasing a range of Shiny Pokemon into the game during the event, this won’t be one.

For those who are curious, however, below is what a Shiny Chatot will look like once it’s been released.

What’s Chatot’s Max CP, Best Moveset and Is It Good?

Chatot has a relatively lowly max CP of 1791 at level 40 or 2025 at level 50, meaning that if it were to be usable in Pokemon GO’s PVP modes, it would have to be the Great League.

Unfortunately, however, even in the Great League, Chatot does not make an impression with PVPoke ranking it as the 655th best Pokemon in the division.

It does pick up wins against Jellicent, Alolan Marowak, Victreebel and Machamp but don’t let that fool you, you definitely shouldn’t use it. It’s sadly nothing more than a ‘dex filler and seeing as Chatot can’t be shiny yet, it’s not even that exciting.

If for some reason you wanted to use Chatot in battle, the moveset you should use is:

  • Fast Move – Peck
  • Charged Move – Sky Attack
  • Charged Move – Night Shade
