It's not often that players have the opportunity to capture a Mythical Pokemon within Pokemon GO.

Up until this month, there were a total of eight in the game; Mew, Celebi, Deoxys, Jirachi, Darkrai, Victini, Meloetta and Genesect.

Now joining those, rather fittingly during the brand new Season of Mischief, is none other than the Mischief Pokemon itself, Hoopa.

As with all new Pokemon though, players are asking "Is Hoopa good?" Here are details on that, plus what its best moveset is.

Is Hoopa Good in Pokemon GO?

Hoopa's Psychic and Ghost typing and stat combination mean it is going to be a very niche pick in Pokemon GO's GO Battle League PVP mode.

While its type combination is fantastic for tackling the Fighting-type Pokemon that tend to appear in abundance, there are way better picks than the Mischief Pokemon.

Cresselia and Deoxys outperform Hoopa in the Great and Ultra League, with the likes of Lugia, Armored Mewtwo and more also being better Ultra League picks and it fares no better in the Master League.

There are far fewer Fighting-types in the Master League for Hoopa to tackle and even so, Lugia, Mewtwo, Togekiss and others outperform it and it's certainly not helped by its lack of bulk when compared to other Pokemon.

What is Hoopa's Best Moveset in Pokemon GO?

If you do decide to run Hoopa in Pokemon GO's PVP mode, there is only really one moveset that is worth considering.

You can find that out right here:

  • Confusion - Fast Move
  • Shadow Ball - Charged Move
  • Psychic - Charged Move
