During the first day of the Epic Games v. Apple trial, it was revealed that Epic Games did indeed have plans for Naruto to join Fortnite, most likely in the form of skin.

Many players are wondering when Naruto, the popular protagonist of the Japanese Manga series, will be joining the Battle Royale phenomenon, Fortnite. Unfortunately, Epic Games didn't detail when the new Naruto skin would arrive in-game, so we're going to have to make an educated guess for ourselves!

Previously Delayed/Scrapped Fortnite Skins

The Naruto collaboration was one of the many crossover possibilities that were mentioned in the Epic Games v. Apple trial. For those that may want to read the full document from the trial, The Verge kindly published the full document. You can find it at the link below, there are a lot of interesting statistics, crossovers, and more surrounding Fortnite.

One of the biggest takeaways from the aforementioned document is the possibility of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson being the star of a new Icon Series Skin.

The new Icon Series Skin was supposed to arrive in Q1 in 2021, that's according to the document anyway. Unfortunately, it's unknown if the skin has been scrapped or delayed.

There is hope for a new Icon Series Skin and many more however, as fans have also discovered that the Neymar Jr Skin was actually supposed to be released in Q4 of 2020. Of course, as many players will know, the Neymar Jr Skin released way past Q4 of 2020, and was delayed until April 27, 2021.

However, it wasn't public knowledge until now that the soccer star's skin was delayed. Could this mean that skins such as The Rock, Naruto, and many more could simply be delayed and not completely cancelled?

Possible Naruto Release Date

We'll start our speculation with the information that previous skins such as Neymar Jr were delayed from Q4 2020 to Q2 2021.

For those that don't know, Q4 of 2020 refers to a specific quarter of the year. In this case, Q4 is from October 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020.

The Neymar Jr skin was eventually released in Q2 of 2021, which is between April 1, 2021, and June 30, 2021. Let us assume that all skins that aren't scrapped have been delayed by a similar amount of time, this means we COULD expect the Naruto skin in Q4 of 2021. This is on the basis that current releases are being delayed by approximately 2 quarters.

However, the document shown in the trial doesn't state a specific quarter in which the Naruto skin could be delayed from. So it's possible the Manga themed skin could still be on track for an unknown release date.

Another point worth noting is the inclusion of the Batman Looper skin that is included in the document. This skin is set to release on June 29th, following the release of all 6 issues of the Zero Point comic. If the document lists the skins in order of possible release date, we could see Naruto fairly soon.

We think this is unlikely, but the Master Chief and Kratos skins have already been released and are in the correct release order within the document. If this is the case, we can also expect to see the Samus Aran skin arrive before Naruto.

Basing the release date on the possibility of the skins being listed in release order, with the Batman skin launching at the end of June, we could see Naruto arrive at the end of May/beginning of June.

However, we think this is more unlikely due to there also being 2 other skins between Naruto and Batman.

Unfortunately, the document from the on-going trial is all we have to go off. We speculate the skin to either be released in the coming weeks, or at the end of the year based on previous skin delays.

Remember that this is simply speculation from DualShockers and not actual news surrounding the release date. As soon as official information is released surrounding the Naruto skin, DualShockers will be the first to let you know.
