Who is Silco in League of Legends Arcane?
Very little is revealed about Silco’s history in Arcane but judging by his penchant for experiments and attire, which is quite similar to the Academy scientists Viktor and Jayce, Silco appears to be a scientist and a resident of the underground city Zaun.
Later in the story, it is also revealed that Silco is an old friend of Vander and they fought together in the uprising against Piltover. But later, Vander decides not to continue on the path of violence against Piltover and ends up fighting Silco due to differences in opinion.
We get to see an old flashback of Silco and Vander fighting each other where Silco ends up with an eye injury and near-death experience. He also accuses Vander of abandoning him.
Silco survives this incident but ends up harboring animosity for Vander so he decides to work in the shadows and exact revenge on his old friend. After years of research, he manages to concoct a violet-colored serum that can turn humans into monsters with supernatural strength.
Silco uses this serum on his underlings to turn them into beasts who would do his dirty work. He also plans to use the serum on Vander so Silco abducts him.
Is Silco Singed In Arcane?
No. Despite the huge amount of speculation and theories that have been making rounds on the internet, Silco is not Singed as they are different characters but they do work together.
We have two major clues which prove that Silco is not Singed in Arcane.
First of all, both the characters are featured separately in the credits and their voice artists are also different as you can see in the image below.
Voice Actors for Silco And Singed
As you can see in the image above, the voice actor for Silco is Jason Spisak, and the voice-over for Singed is done by Brett Tucker in Arcane.
So, Who Is Singed In LoL Arcane?
This is where the second clue comes in. The character Singed appears on screen for a short duration, but many have not caught on to it yet.
Singed is the lab assistant who helps Silco with his experiments with the cat and rat in Episode 1.
He reappears in Episode 2 right before Deckard takes the serum and the scene goes something like this:
Silco is holding a vile of serum in his hand and he asks his lab assistant, “Will he [Deckard] live?” and the assistant replies, “Long enough.”
The second and most concrete clue is hidden in this scene and can be seen if you turn on the English Audio Description option on Netflix. The name Singed appears on the subtitle when the lab assistant replies. Here are the screenshots:
As you can see in the screenshots above, Singed and Silco are two different characters in Arcane. In League of Legends, Singed looks older and has a deformed jaw that is covered with a mask. My guess is that he probably gets this injury in the explosion that takes place at the end of Episode 3.
And Singed is probably the one who finds the half-dead body of Vander and conducts further experiments on him to turn him into the beast called Warwick. But to confirm these facts we will have to wait for more episodes to be revealed!
