Is The Curry Slide In NBA 2K22?

By Dean James

September 11, 2021

Steph Curry has long been one of the best in the sport and that made it no surprise when the NBA 2K series decided to replicate his signature moves in digital form, which has people wondering if the infamous Curry Slide is back in NBA 2K22.

The Curry Slide is a technique that Curry uses where he dribbles behind his back from one hand to the other as he slides in that direction.

This has been a dominant move in the last few years with MyPlayer, as it gives a speed boost for pulling it off, which has led to the more hardcore players getting really frustrated in what they see as a cheap technique.

Is The Curry Slide In NBA 2K22?

Technically the Curry Slide is in the game right now if you’re playing as Steph Curry, as you can use his techniques whenever you’re playing as him.

Those who have been upset at the inclusion of the Curry Slide in the last few years are going to be rather happy in NBA 2K22 though, at least at launch, as the Curry Slide is not currently in the game in its usual form for MyPlayer.

Supposedly, the Curry Slide animation is something that will come later, perhaps through Seasons, though that is not officially confirmed by 2K Sports and more just reported by different people in the community.

In the meantime though, there are some alternatives you can try to somewhat emulate the Curry Slide in NBA 2K22, though not to the degree of in the past.

The closest animation you’re going to find is the Signature Size-Up For Kemba Walker, though your player has to have a height under 6’5″. This can be done by going to your MyPlayer and selecting Animation.

From there, go to Signature Size-Up under the Playmaking Moves heading and press Square to open up the Animation Store. Scroll down and go to the K. Walker option. If you haven’t upgraded your player a bit though, it won’t show up as it requires your MyPlayer to have 85+ Ball Handle.

Otherwise, you’ll have to stay tuned to see if and hopefully when, for those that want it back at least, the Curry Slide will return officially in NBA 2K22.
