My Hero Academia is one of the most popular shonen anime of these last few years, and already got several game adaptations, but is a battle royale game in the works?

Battle royale games and media have always been popular especially in Japan after the Battle Royale movie in early 2000s. With the Fortnite boom a few years ago, several anime series got their own battle royale games as well. Such as JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Last Survivor, an arcade game and battle royale exclusive to Japan. So it wouldn't be surprising if a popular series like My Hero Academia got the same treatment.

Is there a My Hero Academia Battle Royale game coming?

Recent magazine leaks which surfaced on January 13 confirmed a new My Hero Academia game is in development: My Hero Academia Ultra Rumble, coming to PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.

My Hero Academia Ultra Rumble will be a free-to-play battle royale game, with a Closed Beta Test happening soon in Japan. The first screenshots from the leaked magazine show All Might, Deku, Bakugou, and Todoroki as playable characters, with more teased.

Is there a release date yet?

Bandai Namco didn't officially announce a release date estimate for My Hero Academia Ultra Rumble yet, and the game's official announcement hasn't happened yet. The game's first announcement was included in an upcoming magazine, most probably next week's Shonen Jump magazine or this month's V-Jump magazine. And while the magazine is not officially available yet, the pages with the announcement of Ultra Rumble were leaked on Twitter as pointed out by Gematsu.

Official screenshots and a reveal trailer should be published in these next few days when this month's V-Jump magazine (officially titled the March 2022 issue) releases on January 21.

As pointed out on Twitter by Renka_Schedule, an official site has surfaced too, but the page isn't opened yet.
