Is This New App The Vita's Playstation Home?

March 4, 2013

The Playstation Blog has announced Friend Network, a new PS Vita app that allows players to visualize their friends list and meet new players through a virtual world. Players will be guided by Playstation’s mascot Toro (who you’ve probably seen through Street Fighter X Tekken and Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale) through a colorful environment and various lobbies, and can exchange virtual “business cards” with other players.

The app has been released in Japan already, and will now be coming to the U.S. Expect the ability to connect the app to your Facebook and Twitter accounts, and have friends offer tasks, like planting crops in their garden to expand their town yard space.

Sounds like FarmVille meets Playstation Home? Does that sound awesome to you? Check out the screenshots below and let us know what you think in the comments below.

Masoud House

Born and raised in video games and "geek culture," Masoud has been bred off of fantasy worlds his entire life and doesn't see anything wrong with that. He loves RPGs (especially TRPGs), sandbox games, the sci-fi genre, dieselpunk, art deco, and anything that allows him to create. Having graduated from John Jay College with a degree in English and a minor in Creative Writing, Masoud hopes to one day pen the same novels, comics, movies, and video games he enjoys escaping into when the real world gets too boring.
