Let's take a look if Trevenant is good in Pokemon GO and whether or not its best moveset is good enough to shake up the PVP meta.

New Pokemon in Pokemon GO always brings excitement to a players with a variety of different playstyles.

Collectors rejoice as they have the opportunity to fill another spot in their 'Dex, shiny hunters know the opportunity for another shiny isn't too far away and those who like to battle get the chance to shake up their battling roster.

Two of the latest new Pokemon to join the fray, alongside Galarian Slowking and Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist, is none other than Phantump and its evolution Trevenant. All five Pokemon join as part of the game's yearly Halloween event.

So let's take a look if Trevenant is good in Pokemon GO and whether or not its best moveset is good enough to shake up the PVP meta.

Is Trevenant Good in Pokemon GO?

Trevenant's typing of Grass and Ghost is an interesting one, which means it resists some of Pokemon GO's most common types.

It has a resistance against Fighting, Normal, Electric, Grass, Ground and Water-type moves, however, it does suffer with a weakness to Dark, Fire, Flying, Ghost and Ice-type moves.

The combination of its good typing, plus some good stats mean that Trevenant is likely to be a major player in the GO Battle League.

PVPoke ranks it as the second best Pokemon in the whole of the Great League, sitting just behind Galarian Stunfisk. It can deal with many of the division's biggest threats including Medicham, Azumarill, Skarmory and Galarian Stunfisk itself.

In the Ultra League, Trevenant is once again ranked as the second best Pokemon, provided it's powered up with XL Candy. This time, it falls behind Registeel. Once again though, Trevenant can dispatch of Registeel, as well as Altered Giratina, Swampert, Cresselia and Melmetal.

It struggles a little more in the Master League, coming in at 134th place. While still respectable, it will fall to the majority of the major players in this league.

Overall, it's safe to say that you'll be seeing a lot more of the spooky tree in the GO Battle League due to its phenomenal all round performance. Use this event and the double Catch/Transfer Candy to get yourself a good one.
