Who is Graves in League of Legends?

Graves is one of the most wanted men in the League of Legends universe because of his criminal acts. He is a thief, gambler, and mercenary, who learned what he must do to survive when he was a child.

Graves was raised in the dark and brutal alleys of Bilgewater; however, in his youth, Graves escaped the place to find out what more this world has to offer. Graves gambled, stole, and performed several criminal acts, making several powerful enemies in the process. However, despite being a criminal, Graves has a moral code, and that's why he is determined not to cross certain lines.

Is Vander Graves?

If you've watched Vander in Netflix's Arcane, you might have realized that the character does sound and looks similar to Graves. However, if you are hoping for them to be the same characters, you'd be disappointed.

In Arcane, we see that Vander was raised in Zaun, whereas Graves was born in Bilgewater. Besides that, the character was once referred to as the "Hound of the Underground" in the show. Interestingly, Underground or Undercity are other names for Zaun. Also, the title of "Hound" connects Vander directly to Warwick's lore, a monster who haunts the streets of Zaun in LoL. So, it's pretty much evident that Arcane's Vander is, in fact, Warwick from League of Legends.

The League of Legends lore says that Warwick was once a good man who wanted to lead a good life. However, his past caught up to him, and after several experiments in Singed's lab, he became a monster. Interestingly, in the anime, we saw Vander going through a similar journey. He wanted to give up the violence for Vi and other kids. However, his past (Silco) threatens everyone he loves, so in the end, he uses the serum and becomes a monster to save Vi.
