Day Two of this year's GO Fest is underway around the world and trainers are getting ready to go head-to-head with lots of Legendary Pokemon.

A grand total of 37 different monsters will be in raids, rotating across four different groups over the course of the day.

Two of those Pokemon are Xerneas and Yveltal, the featured Legendaries from Pokemon X and Y, who will be appearing during the Thunder and Lava hours respectively.

Are Xerneas and Yveltal good though or should you be focusing your efforts elsewhere? Let's look at their best moveset and meta relevance.

Can Xerneas or Yveltal Be Shiny in Pokemon GO?

As they're the two most recent Legendary additions to the game, the answer is unfortunately no - and it's unlikely they will be for some time.

There is still a handful of Legendary Pokemon that came out long before these two that are still yet to receive their Shiny forms, so it's much more likely they'll be first.

For those still interested in what they look like, check out the tweet below. They're certainly some of the better looking Shiny Legendaries.

Is Xerneas Good in Pokemon GO?

For as much potential Xerneas has, the simple answer is no.

Despite having a great max CP and a perfect type for the Master League, Xerneas' moveset lets it down massively.

It can't even crack the 400 top Pokemon in the Ultra League according to PVPoke and comes in at a lowly 134th place in the Master League, once powered up with XL Candies to level 50. It does still manage to beat Yveltal and Palkia though.

The only reason that it's worth raiding now is to stock up on Candies in anticipation that it might get a reworked movepool but if you're not too bothered, it's a 'dex filler and nothing more.

Its current best moveset is:

  • Tackle â€“ Fast Move
  • Close Combat â€“ Charge Move
  • Moonblast â€“ Charge Move

Is Yveltal Good in Pokemon GO?

Unlike Xerneas, Yveltal is very, very good in Pokemon GO.

It's still probably not worth using in the Ultra League, ranking 169th, but it's now a major player in the Master League.

PVPoke rates it the 4th best Pokemon in the whole division and it picks up some massive victories against the likes of Dialga, Giratina, Mewtwo, Groudon and Garchomp when at level 50!

Yveltal's best moveset is as follows:

  • Snarl â€“ Fast Move
  • Dark Pulse â€“ Charge Move
  • Focus Blast â€“ Charge Move
