Konami has just launched Yugioh Master Duel on all platforms without prior notice so part of the fanbase is wondering if the game is free and how do you get more cards.

Yugioh Master Duel is the new ultimate digital Yugioh experience, with Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum rules, a solo mode, and a competitive mode divided by servers for each region.

Is Yugioh Master Duel Free?

Yugioh Master Duel is free and follows a typical free-to-play business model. You can download the game for free on any of its platforms right now, on PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. Note that a mobile version for iOS and Android is also planned.

If you already started an account on a specific platform and wish to transfer to another platform, be sure to not pick start a new game on that new platform. And click data transfer instead. See our guide if you need help.

How to get more cards in Yugioh Master Duel

You can buy Card Packs with Gems, and you can obtain Gems by playing the game, or by buying them with real money. You can do all that in the Shop menu accessible from the main menu.

Note that in typical gacha game fashion, it's best to always buy 10 packs for 1000 Gems, as it's guaranteed to have at least one Super Rare card if you do so. It's a typical gacha rule.

There are Normal, Bonus, and Secret Packs you can buy from. Be sure to check the card lists in each pack first. You can also search for a specific card to help you create your decks.
