In the past few months, some of the major video game publishers in the world have shown interest in adding NFTs into their games. Itch.io has a loud and clear message to all those companies!

NFT (non-fungible token) has been a trending word for a few years now as cryptocurrencies have grown popular among the people of the world.

Although it has been proven that cryptocurrency and NFTs could be extremely harmful to the environment, the revenue and opportunity that it brings to corporations seem to be too tempting that they choose to not care about our world anymore.

Ubisoft, Konami, Square Enix, and EA have already shown interest in NFTs and even Nintendo's boss recently stated that they might use the opportunities of this new technology in the future. However, there are some big names in the industry that strongly reject NFTs like Steam and Itch.io.

Itch.io Stands With Players Against NFT

Recently, Itch.io shared a very clear message about its approach to NFTs, which already pleased all the video game fans and players who believe NFTs do not have a place in gaming. The message has already received almost 200K likes!

That F-word reaction to companies supporting NFTs is probably the most enjoyable part of this message for all the gamers, who already have suffered enough from the greedy plans of publishers for turning every single game into a cash cow!

Hopefully, the huge backlash over NFTs has already forced EA and Ubisoft to re-evaluate their plans around adding NFTs into the games.

But the main question is what happens if major companies and console holders, in particular, invest in big NFT projects? It wouldn't be easy for players to counter against Sony, Nintendo, or Microsoft if they ever decide to add NFTs into their titles.
