We previously reported about European publisher Ghostlight bringing Agarest Senki Zero to that region, but were left in the lurch as to whether the previous title’s publisher, Aksys, was going to localize it for America or not. Well, now we know – Aksys will indeed be releasing the slightly reworded Record of Agarest War Zero in North America in the Summer of 2011, for both the PS3 and Xbox 360. Of special note here is that there will be physical retail copies for both systems released this time around. For the previous game, only retail copies of the 360 version were produced, while PS3 owners were relegated to downloading it from the PSN and forced to miss out on the mildly inappropriate packaging.
There will be a few changes and additions over the Japanese version, as well, such as added functionality that allows you to free-run around towns and meet up with other characters – including the cute girls – to your heart’s content.
As I’m sure I’ve mentioned several times before, the original title, Record of Agarest War, is a highly underrated strategy RPG, with some visual novel elements mixed in. If you’re into the genre you should check it out, then look forward to its sequel, much like I am. Let’s see how long it takes for someone to question me about the above image from the game – it’s just a hot dog, people! Get your minds out of the gutter!
