Among the most anticipated reveals expected to arrive at GDC 2019 next week, one of the biggest announcements expected is that Google will finally unveil its apparent plans to move head first into the space of gaming. While we still have a week to see what Google has in store, one surprise announcement has come up from the reveal that Jade Raymond has joined on with the company in a major role.Raymond announced via Twitter that she has joined as a Vice President at Google, and while her specific role has not yet been revealed just yet, it's safe to assume that she may be playing a part in the company's growing efforts to expand into gaming. As a veteran of the games industry from her work at major gaming publishers like EA and Ubisoft -- and recently winning a lifetime achievement award at the NY Video Game Critics Circle Awards -- Raymond's extensive experience and knowledge of the games industry would surely make her a prime candidate to head up Google's growing games division. Over the course of her work, Raymond has been involved in some of the biggest gaming franchises around, such as The Sims, Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, and more.At this time, we don't quite know what to expect from Google's burgeoning games division, but from the recent teaser that the company shared ahead of its GDC presentation next week (which will be livestreamed), it's already something that is aiming to bring gaming to a much wider audience than ever before. Luckily, we only have to wait another week to see what it may all be about and how Google will enter the picture in the world of gaming.
