I have some fond memories of the old PC Real-Time Strategy/Turn-based Strategy hybrid Jagged Alliance. It was never the most popular series, but it was creative and a lot of fun. I seem to remember an option to send condolence flowers to the families of mercenaries who died in your service as one of the more creative options that stuck out in the overall design of the game. So it is good to see Kalypso Media is bringing it back. They've announced that the newest game in the series, Jagged Alliance: Back in Action will come out on February 14, 2012.

The game will feature players commanding a private military force of mercenaries and rebels to take on a dictator in a fictional country known as Arulco.  The game plays mostly in real time, though there is also a turn-based element where players can adjust tactics and change maneuvers on the fly. It also has some simple-but-cool RPG elements as your soldiers grow, advance and get access to better equipment.  Check out the awesome new trailer for Back in Action on Kalypso's YouTube site here.
