Japan Gears Up for PS4 Preorders; Retailers Limit Preorders Expecting High Demand

on October 4, 2013 6:54 AM

Tomorrow many Japanese gamers will wake up early to try and preorder the PS4 in the archipelago of the rising sun, and retailers are expecting overwhelming demand for the upcoming console by Sony.

Despite the fact that the console won’t be available for preorder until tomorrow, many retailers have already opened the dedicated page and are sending out warning mails to gear up for the big day.

Checking out the offerings of the most popular Japanese retail sites like Amazon.jp, Bic Camera, Yodobashi Camera, Toys ‘R’ Us, Nojima Online and Rakuten, they all limit preorders to one per person. Some like Yodobashi and Bic also go in detail explaining that they’ll cancel preorders if they discover users using different names from the same address.

Looks like Japanese gamers are in for a field day. Did Sony allocate enough consoles to accommodate everyone? We’ll know quite soon.
