Japan Votes for Their Favorite ‘Mon in “The Pokémon General Election”; Current Top 100 Revealed

on April 28, 2016 1:07 AM

Earlier this month, Japan began a general poll for fans to vote for their favorite Pokémon out of the current 720 types. More specifically the poll will decide the ‘mon fans to be distributed in an upcoming 3DS promotional event for the 19th Pokémon film Volcanion and the Mechanical Magearna (credit to Watch Da Birdie for the info):

Volcanion is not included with the actual vote since it will already be distributed in a future event coinciding with the movie.

Although voting doesn’t officially end until May 8th, the top 100 picks have been recently revealed and the results are both not surprising and a little (read: very) strange:

Unfortunately non-Japan fans aren’t able to vote as it’s being done mainly by physical ballots. Voting can be done through the 3DS but only by using the “7-Spot Wi-Fi” network only found in Japanese 7-11s. Regardless, it’ll be interesting to see which Pokémon ends up winning the voting.
