Yesterday Square Enix introduced the opening cutscene of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn‘s expansion Heavensward, and quite a lot of info on the rich content of the add-on pack set in the northern regions around Ishgard.

But how was it received? At least in Japan, definitely well.

Nico Nico, that hosted the broadcast and is mostly popular among Japanese viewers, has a voting system at the end of each livestream, asking the audience what they thought about it.

The result’s for Heavensward‘s broadcast, polled among almost 102,000 viewers, were definitely positive.

  • It was very good: 72.1%
  • It was pretty good: 19.0%
  • It was average: 5.2%
  • It wasn’t very good: 1.1%
  • It was bad: 2.5%

This makes for a 91% positive feedback, that is quite the good result, showing that the Japanese audience loves what it saw, even if it doesn’t come close to the overwhelming response to the latest Xenoblade Chronicles X broadcast.

Heavensward is definitely setting high expectations among the fans. Will it deliver the goods? We’ll have to wait for June 23rd to know.
