Electronic Arts announced today that Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez will make his debut on the cover of FIFA 14 in Mexico and on one of two covers in the United States. Chicharito will appear wearing the Mexican national team home kit alongside the world’s top footballer, Barcelona and Argentina superstar Lionel Messi. Fans in the United States will also have the option to choose the global cover featuring an iconic image of the world’s No. 1 player, Messi.

Hernandez had this to say about the deal,

For me it's a real honor to have been selected to appear on the cover of FIFA 14, first of all because I declare myself a big fan of this game, and second  because I’m looking forward to sharing my passion for football and EA Sports FIFA 14 with fans all over the world.

Chicharito will appear on the cover of FIFA 14 on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation3, which means that FIFA 14 for Playstation 4 and to XBox One will have a different cover, with a different logo. The major changes will take place in the International covers, as it happened last year. Messi will be not alone in those covers, he will be joined by popular players of different countries from UK, Spain, France, Italy and probably Germany.

In addition to this, FIFA 14 will have custom club covers as well. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, Sevilla, Real Bétis, Valência, Olympique Marseille, Lyon, Paris Saint-Germain and eight clubs of Barclays Premier League are some of the clubs.

The game will release for PlayStation 3, PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita and Xbox 360 on September 24, 2013. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release date has yet to be announce.
