Cute Girls Doing Survival Things Jinrui no Minasama e Gets New Details, Teaser Trailer

Five girls get suddenly thrown into a post-apocalyptic Akihabara and try to survive through the power of doujinshi.

Nippon Ichi Software revealed new information and the first teaser trailer for Jinrui no Minasama e, the game only featuring cute girls, who after visiting Akihabara and staying in a hotel, woke up the next day in a post-apocalyptic world. The girls’ profiles and artworks can be found in our article covering Jinrui no Minasama e‘s announcement.

Basically, the game will have the five girls using the hotel as their base of operations. There’s only cup ramen left in the hotel, but the kitchen’s induction plates are still working, so the girls will be able to cook if they find ingredients. Controlling main character Kyouka, players will be able to explore Akihabara and enter its buildings, though most of them have unaccessible rooms and floors because of all the wild vegetation growing.

To help in their survival life, the group of girl will also regularly explore Akihabara’s doujinshi selling shops, picking up “how to” doujinshi books from there, which is a pretty cool feature. A lot of people tend to think “doujin” only refers to amateur manga with adult content, but “doujin” designates anything which is fan-published. For example, besides the manga doujinshi sold at Comiket, which doesn’t all contain adult content, you’ve also got books on how to farm from farming otakus, books on how to fish, how to survive in a hostile environment, how to lit a fire, etc. This will be reflected in Jinrui no Minasama e and the girls will survive thanks to the power of these “how to” doujins.

The group of girls will organize itself and the player can ask each girl to take care of certain tasks like farming or fishing. As you explore the town and gather tools and items from all the junk lingering around, you’ll be able to craft and combine them to make fires, make better fishing tools, or traps to catch wild animals among other things. While it’s confirmed we’ll be able to freely control Kyouka to explore Akihabara, it’s still unclear if all of the crafting, cooking elements and such will have actual gameplay. The game is described by Nippon Ichi Software as an “adventure game” so most of it should be through text-only like in a visual novel. And like in visual novels, Jinrui no Minasama e has CG illustrations to depict important events. One thing for sure is you shouldn’t except any action-like gameplay from the game.

You can check all that with the screenshots in the gallery below. The teaser trailer can be found below too, but keep in mind it’s only a teaser, with no gameplay or voices, and nothing we didn’t already cover, except new artwork of each of the girls smiling.

Jinrui no Minasama e, which can be translated to “For All Mankind” is a joint project between Nippon Ichi Software and Acquire, the studio behind Tenchu, Akiba’s Trip, and Octopath Traveler. It’s also the third game coming on PS4 and Switch announced by Nippon Ichi Software so far in 2019 in Japan, following Destiny Connect and Murder Detective Jack the Ripper.

Jinrui no Minasama e launches on May 30 in Japan.
