John Romero Suspends Kickstarter Campaign for His New FPS Game Blackroom

Doom creators John Romero and Adrian Carmack launched a Kickstarter campaign a few days ago for their new FPS Blackroom. Today they posted an update, suspending the campaign.

The campaign had raised just over $131,052 from 2,287 backers, but the developers decided to retry after developing an actual gameplay demo.

After the demo is ready, they intend to launch the Kickstarter campaign again, even if there’s no estimate on when that will happen.

The game was officially slated for a release on PC in winter 2018, but we’ll have to see if that will change when the crowdfunding campaign will be rebooted.

Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
