The massive continent sprawling conflict between the New Conglomerate, Terran Republic and Vanu Sovereignty of Planetside 2 has been known to be coming to PS4 for sometime, but the when has been a mystery. Thankfully, we now have some new information on when that might occur.
John Smedley, president of Sony Online Entertainment, talked about Planetside 2 and the PS4 version on Twitter today, providing a picture of the game running on the system. The shot, though hard hard to see all the fine details, looks impressive considering how taxing Planetside 2 can be on PCs. The more important tid bit we received though was when to expect a beta for the game.

The time frame may upset some, as Smedley tweeted that the beta is a few months away yet. Many fans of the series have been holding out hopes for the whole game to sneak in yet this winter, but with beta several months away it means that the full release is even further off.

This may be a bit unfortunate, but we at least finally have some idea of when to expect Planetside 2 to finally hit PS4, which I’m guessing will be about the end of Q2 next year. If you’re looking forward to Planetside 2 or are just a veteran of the PC version, let me know what you think of this in the comments below.
