Disney Infinity's John Vignocchi Joins Gearbox as Executive Producer of a "New Tent Pole Franchise"

Disney Infinity's VP of Production John Vignocchi has joined Gearbox Software as the Executive Producer of a new, family friendly franchise.

While you may currently know of John Vignocchi as the former Vice President of Production for toys-to-life franchise Disney Infinity at Disney Interactive, but you will soon be able to associate him with Gearbox Software. He joined the company yesterday as the Executive Producer of an unannounced franchise at GearboxJohn Vignocchi recently announced this transition to Gearbox Software Executive Producer on Twitter, and also revealed that he is working on a "new tent pole franchise for the company." Gearbox is mainly known for the Borderlands series, so it is definitely interesting to see that they will be branching out soon with a new major franchise.

Gearbox is also usually associated with more mature-rated titles, but that doesn't look like it will be the case with this new franchise. John Vignocchi proceeded to promise that the franchise he is working on will "surprise and delight gamers of all ages; whether you're six or sixty" on Twitter, so this franchise will definitely be charting new territory for Gearbox as a whole.
