Tired to play a heroic Jedi Knight or a cunning Bounty Hunter in Star Wars: The Old Republic? BioWare announced today, as part of the upcomig update 1.2, a new feature that will pleasse the ship droid lovers across the galaxy.

The new feature, aptly named Ship Droid™, lets you play your ship droid in a bunch of minigames reproducing appropriate menial tasks like cleaning the ship's windows (from outside),  preparing meals and applying a fresh coat of paint to the walls, same color, of courseonly fresher.

Ship Droid™ will of course include the story elements that we came to know and love in BioWare games, with meaningful dialogue choices and interaction with other companions and the main character.

The Etiquette points system will allow ship droids to unlock several features, like companion-to-companion romance and Super Star Wars for the Super NES as a minigame.

The ultimate unlock will let ship droids reverse the roles, becoming the main character and finally putting our player characters under their metal boot.

I'm quite sure that BioWare won't miss the chance to include same-gender romance options between C2-2 and T7-01 down the line. Ship Droid™ can't be considered complete without that.

Happy April Fools' Day to you too, BioWare.
