Stone Ocean is the sixth part of the ongoing JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series. Every fighter from the third part onwards has a ghost-like figure with a unique power called a Stand. As the series progressed, Stands got very diverse powers that made JoJo's fights stand out from other series.
Stone Ocean's prison setting brings many obstacles for the brand-new cast of characters to overcome, but it also allows for some of the most unique situations for fights to take place.
10 Ermes VS Sports Maxx
Three years before Stone Ocean began, Sports Maxx murdered Gloria Costello, the sister of Ermes. He was sent to prison for tax evasion, but there wasn't enough proof that he murdered Glorio. He obtains the Stand Limp Bizkit while in prison. It allows him to control the undead.
Ermes gets her revenge very swiftly, as she kills Sports Maxx within a few minutes, but Limp Bizkit's ability continues the fight. Ermes faced off against an invisible zombie alligator before facing off against a zombie Sports Maxx.
9 Jolyne & Weather Report VS Lang Rangler
While Jolyne was attempting to save her father by getting his disc to the Speedwagon Foundation, Pucci sent Lang Rangler to assassinate her. Lang's Jumpin Jack Flash Stand has the power to modify gravity.
Emporio requested Weather Report to aid Jolyne. This is the first fight he has had in the series, and it demonstrates his control over the weather very well. Jolyne and Weather Report learned how to cooperate in a very short time span after meeting to overcome this powerful foe.
8 Jolyne & Ermes VS FF
A large colony of sentient plankton formed together into a Stand named Foo Fighters. They originally acted as an agent for Pucci. While Jolyne and Ermes were on a prison trip to a lake, FF attempted to pull them under.
The end of this fight marked the beginning of a friendship. Jolyne decided to spare FF. FF then possessed the body of a dead prisoner named Atroe and acted as Jolyne's ally for the rest of the series. This fight was a great way to introduce FF into the series.
7 FF VS Pucci
Pucci appeared just as FF was about to finish off a lesser enemy. A one-versus-one fight with the main villain would but tough for any character, so FF made the wise decision to flee. They left Atroe's body behind as a distraction while their real body ran out of the building. Pucci pursued them but wasn't able to prevent their immediate escape.
FF and Pucci both eventually found their way to Jolyne's location. Many allies tried to defeat Pucci, but he managed to land a deadly blow against Anasui before leaving. FF helped revive him at the cost of their own life force. FF's death marked the first real death of a major character in Stone Ocean.
6 Jolyne, Ermes, & FF VS Miraschon
Miraschon and her Stand Marilyn Manson offer a unique challenge to the main cast. Any bet she makes can result in the loser losing a valuable part of their body. Ermes felt the results firsthand, as she lost her liver upon failing a bet.
Jolyne makes a deal with Miraschon that if she can throw a baseball back and forth with her allies 100 times without dropping it, Miraschon would have to give Ermes her liver back. Miraschon tries many ways to cheat, yet Jolyne triumphs.
5 Anasui & Weather Report VS Ungalo
While trying to track down where Jolyne is, Anasui and Weather Report get a ride on the back of a kind old man's truck. They are then attacked by many iconic fictional characters, such as Pinocchio. This is a result of Ungalo's Stand Bohemian Rhapsody.
Anasui and Weather Report both quickly learn that no matter what they do, events will play out exactly as they do in storybooks. They had to strategize a way to win since Ungalo was far out of reach. It's a fight that excellently portrays the bizarre fights JoJo has to offer.
4 Weather Report VS Pucci
Weather Report's origin was unknown for the majority of the series, but he eventually got his memory back. The reveal that he was none other than Pucci's brother that got switched at birth was a shocking reveal. Pucci attempted to cover up a lot of family drama nearly a decade before Stone Ocean took place by hiring someone to scare Weather.
Pucci failed to realize the man was a part of a racist cult. He beat Weather senselessly and indirectly caused the death of his girlfriend. This event triggers Weather obtaining his stand and leads him on a path to kill Pucci for revenge. Their duel would be brief yet very intense. It is one of the most drama-heavy fights in the series.
3 Emporio VS Pucci
This fight represents the entire ending of Stone Ocean. After the original timeline collapsed, Emporio and Pucci found themselves in a new one. Due to Emporio being the only survivor of the main cast, the fate of everyone rested on his shoulders.
Pucci used his knowledge of destiny to predict everything Emporio would do, but Emporio had a surprise up his sleeve. He obtained Weather Report's stand to deliver a deadly blow to Pucci. This resulted in a new timeline where the main cast survived and lived much better lives.
2 Jolyne & Ermes VS Donatello Versus
Donatello's Stand called Under World is another magnifying example of how unique Stands can be. Its ability is pulling memories of the past out of the Earth. He used this power to trap Jolyne and Ermes on an airplane that crashed in the past. Jolyne and Ermes had to find the correct seats to survive the crash based on the information they obtained from Emporio.
Donatello played dirty by also putting kids on the plane. Jolyne and Ermes combined their powers excellently to make sure everyone survived, however, the fight only just began. Donatello revealed more of his tragic backstory as he betrayed Pucci and ran off. The team chased him to the streets to finish him off.
1 The Whole Team VS Pucci
Jolyne, Anasui, Ermes, and Emporio make one last attempt at stopping Pucci. Jotaro makes a grand return to help, but even with his help, the team is powerless to prevent Pucci from unlocking the Made In Heaven Stand. Made In Heaven has the power to accelerate time. This allows Pucci to make months happen in mere seconds.
Pucci managed to kill four of the five remaining heroes before accelerating the universe to its end. Pucci effectively won in the original timeline. The high stakes, use of various Stand abilities, and unique visuals resulting from time speeding up make this fight the climax of the Stone Ocean storyline.
