A rumor has been going around in the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fandom, claiming JoJolion / Part 8 is "ending with its next chapter". However, there are several inconsistencies with this rumor.

Where did the "JoJolion is ending with its next chapter" rumor came from?

JoJolion is published in Ultra Jump magazine, which releases between the 15th and the 20th of the month. Slightly before this month's release on June 18th, a Japanese blog who shares magazine leaks, ryokutya2089, started being linked around as the source of a rumor claiming "JoJolion is ending with its next chapter".

If you've been reading DualShockers for a while, or entertainment sites in general, you've definitely already seen ryokutya2089 being sourced in articles. Most notably for Famitsu magazine leaks. While these leaks are often accurate, they are always incomplete. You don't get the full picture unless you buy Famitsu magazine digitally and read it yourself.

One good example are the Famitsu magazine bi-weekly columns from Super Smash Bros director Masahiro Sakurai, who were often misinterpreted because of those leaks. This won't happen anymore as Sakurai has recently ended writing his columns.

Moreover, magazine leaks shared by that blog always include personal biases and guesses from the blog's author mixed in. And these are hard to distinguish from the actual leaks for those who don't actually speak Japanese.

The blog stated that they believe "JoJolion will end with its August issue", but this is just a guess turned into a baseless rumor. Some fans are already making fun of it on Twitter:

Why the "JoJolion ends with its next chapter" rumor is false

The following contains spoilers for JoJolion 108 / This month's chapter.

JoJolion definitely reached a turning point with Chapter 108, as there are some of the dialogue lines being a call back to the beginning chapters. Moreover, there's a major character death. As such, we can assume the series is starting to head toward a conclusion. With that said, there are still many plot points left that can't be solved in such a short amount of time.

It's also important to note that the rumor also spread as "JoJolion is ending in August" while what the Japanese blog said is "it's ending in the August Issue". The August issue of Ultra Jump means the one releasing on July 16. This would mean the next JoJolion chapter is the ending. This is nearly impossible.

Lastly, it's important to note that usually, a magazine's editorial department, or the mangaka themselves, will include several chapters in advance a message announcing the end is coming. Hirohiko Araki hasn't done that for JoJolion yet. Perhaps we will soon see a message like that though.
