Josef Fares, CEO of A Way Out Developer Hazelight, Teases Studio's Next Game
Josef Fares is back with a new game to show off at the EA Play event June 18
If you remember 2017’s Game Awards show, you probably also remember Josef Fares’… let’s say impassioned speech on games and their importance. You may also remember that his studio, Hazelight, released A Way Out a year later in 2018. And now it seems like the studio is preparing another game for an announcement, and hopefully, Fares will return to reveal the new title, and maybe give another speech somewhere along the way.
A short tease about the next game on #EAPlayLive 18 june. Don’t miss it!

Fares teased the new game in a Tweet from his main account, saying that the game would be shown at EA’s upcoming EA Play live event on June 18. With this teaser, we at least have a date that we’ll get to see this new title, but no new information on it. For that, we’ll just have to wait for its reveal.
That’s not to say the upcoming title hasn’t been teased before. Fares has often Tweeted or ReTweeted pictures or videos from Hazelight of the team working on the game. One such video shows sound engineers hard at work, whipping around planks of wood tied to a rope and snapping paper and cardboard in front of an enormous microphone. Personally, I got the feeling they were working on sounds for a massive whip, but who knows.
Can’t wait to show what we are working on! Here is a teaser! pic.twitter.com/1tvvt54nq4

That’s all that’s out there right now on Hazelight’s new game, and it seems like we’ll only get more June 18 during the EA Play Event. It’s sure to be a packed day of announcements, with EA bringing its usual slew of sports titles, along with the possibility of mentioning a new Battlefield title, which is supposedly going to release in 2021.
