Journey to the Savage Planet is a new game from developer Typhoon Studios, which was founded by Far Cry 4 director Alex Hutchinson in 2018. The game is a first-person adventure game with a warped sense of humor. The team unveiled their first gameplay trailer at E3 and it looks like it could be a blast. Give the trailer a look below.

The gameplay here is a little limited (it is just a one minute video, after all). That said, what is shown looks promising. We see the player character daintily carrying a piece of alien goo as he navigates the environment and shoots down ball-shaped creatures. We also see him creeping up on a creature and then chasing after it in a stride that can only be described as odd. He even uses a jet pack to reach a ledge overlooking a frozen pond.

Obviously, we'll need to get our hands on it to confirm, but the movement appears solid. Making traversal fun is of the utmost importance when you're developing an exploration game, especially one that takes place in space. I was surprised to see so much combat in the trailer. Of course, the director of Typhoon Studios has a background in FPS games, so I suppose I should've expected it.

I'll be keeping an eye on this one. Journey to the Savage Planet is coming to PC (via the Epic Store), PS4, and Xbox One in early 2020. Keep your eyes on DualShockers for all the news coming out of E3.
