As one of the first big releases of the year, Journey to the Savage Planet kicked off 2020 with an experience built all around exploration and discovery. Combining first-person exploration with Metroidvania-style elements, Typhoon Studios' title offered quite a lot for players on consoles and PC, with the game now available for Nintendo Switch to explore its titular savage planet.

Publisher 505 Games has announced that Journey to the Savage Planet is now available digitally for Nintendo Switch, after the game released earlier this year on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can check out the launch trailer for the game's Switch version below:

Alongside the game's digital release today on the Nintendo Switch eShop, 505 Games also detailed the release schedule for the Switch version in other regions. Specifically, today's launch encompasses its digital release in the Americas and Europe, while the game will be coming to Russia on May 28. After that, a physical release for the Switch version is planned for Europe on June 25, and will also be coming to the Americas "in the days after," according to 505 Games.

We reviewed Journey to the Savage Planet earlier this year, and overall found it to be potentially one of this year's sleeper hits. Laddie Simco explained in her review that Savage Planet "offers a ton of enjoyment in both its gameplay and storytelling," and that "it’s a brilliant and bright universe that contains hidden dangers that betray its beauty."

Recently, the game was updated to include a New Game Plus mode for those that want to return to the game with an added level of challenge. However, fitting the game's tone and style, this mode is instead called "Old Game Minus" and challenges players to complete the game with a limited set of lives and a race against time to make it out alive.

Journey to the Savage Planet is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
