Known for the long-running Yakuza series, Yakuza Studio unveiled a new title in the works during Sony’s pre-TGS conference that should bring together fans new and old of their flagship series, but in a new direction.
During Sony’s TGS 2018 conference, Sony revealed a new title in the works from the creators of the Yakuza series called Judge Eyes (a working title, according to one of the team members presenting the game onstage).
The trailer itself highlighted an intense Japanese crime thriller that has traces of the Yakuza series, but seems to be going for more of a hard-boiled and grounded take on crime and mystery, compared to the more humorous and bizarre tones that the Yakuza series has been known for.
In addition to the game’s reveal trailer, Yakuza Studio also confirmed that the game will be heading to the West in 2019, and a demo of the game will be available today for players to try out the game before its launch later this year.
Judge Eyes will release in Japan on December 13th, 2018 and will be followed by a Western release in 2019 – for a closer look at the game, you can check out the reveal trailer below:
