In a press conference held on January 19, 2022, the president of Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS), Yoichi Muchiaki, mentioned regarding Jujutsu Kaisen: “We can’t announce a concrete plan yet so I ask you to be patient. But I believe your expectations will be met”. (Thanks, Mantanweb)

Is Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 confirmed?

Right now, a season 2 is all but officially confirmed. Japan just got the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie adaptation. And while it had a post-credits scene, it did not announce a second season yet. But everything still points towards a sequel.

The whole reason the movie adaptation exists is to prepare anime-only fans for future arcs. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and its protagonist Yuta Okkotsu are crucial to understanding upcoming developments.

On January 15, the site AMC Theatres briefly listed the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie for a March 18, 2022, release date in the US. Hence the claims it was leaked. Don’t bet on that date yet as there was no official announcement, so it could definitely end up wrong.

The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie launched on December 24, 2021, in Japan. As of January 16, 2022, its box office revenue exceeded 8.57 billion Yen.
