The new chapter is titled Sakurajima Colony, Part 8, and the editor's note on the first page says, "Noaya's Stubbornness Blossoms." The chapter starts with Naoya activating his Domain Expansion, which is named "The imperial Palace of Time Sheath." He then traps Daidou and Miyo inside it but fails to trap Maki as she lacks Cursed Energy. They start getting hit by camera films, but as they can't sense anything dangerous, they decide to attack.

Naoya explains his Cursed Technique while fighting Daidou and Miyo. Anything he touches stops for one second, and as soon as the person starts moving, their cells start falling out of alignment. It possibly means that the person has to move in coordination with Naoya. Naoya is able to chop off Daidou's arm but gets frustrated as he cannot sense Maki's presence. She stabs Naoya from outside his Domain Expansion using the sword that Mai created. We are then shown a brief moment of farewell between the two sisters.

Naoya gets infuriated at Maki and turns into a monster again, but as soon as he approaches to attack her, she slashes him in two clear halves. The Sure-Hit attack of Naoya isn't able to hit Maki as he couldn't recognize her due to the lack of Cursed Energy. The chapter ends with Maki being compared to Toji Zenin again.
