Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the best Japanese manga right now. The series flaunts some of the best-written characters and an incredible storyline. And millions of fans are connected with the series through the manga or the anime adaptation.

Manga readers look forward to the new Jujutsu Kaisen chapters each week; however, it looks like we won't get to read new chapters for quite some time.

Jujutsu Kaisen Hiatus: What's the reason?

Jujutsu Kaisen is going on a long hiatus due to Gege Akutami's health issues.

According to the official statement, Akutami didn't want to slow down as he would like to finish the manga as soon as possible. So, he wanted to continue working on the new manga chapters despite his poor health.

However, the author also stated that he couldn't fully recover after taking a single week's break. So, after a long discussion with the Shonen Jump's editorial department, the author agreed on taking a break.

Akutami also confirmed that his mental health is fine, and he is not suffering from any serious illness, which is definitely a relief for the fans.

When is the manga coming back?

According to the Shonen Jump's official Twitter handle, Jujutsu Kaisen will be on a break indefinitely. However, according to Akutami's statement, "it should take around a month" for him to fully recover.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 152 is yet to come out on Sunday, June 13th, 2021; after that, the series will go on a break. And judging from mangaka's above statement, it's safe to say that new Jujutsu Kaisen chapters will start rolling out by the end of July.
