Kamiko is a single-player arcade-action game, with a pixel art-style, where players will take the role of one of three “Divine Maidens” on a quest to battle demons and solve puzzles.

The game is styled around Japanese Shinto beliefs. Each level has several torii, a name for traditional Japanese gates, that the player must find out how to unlock.

Once the player unlocks each torii they’ll have to fight the final boss at the end of each level.

Kamiko is meant to be a fun and accessible game by indie developer Skipmore.

Kamiko is available now on the Japanese e-shop and will be available on April 27 for $4.99 USD. You can check out the game’s Japanese teaser trailer below.
