We have known about Wattam, the latest game from Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi, for some time. During Sony's September State of Play, we learned that the game would finally release in December, though the exact date was still nebulous. Today, Funomena and Annapurna Interactive revealed that Wattam will finally be coming out on December 17, 2019.

At launch, Wattam will only be available for PS4 and PC. On PC, it is one of several Epic Games Store exclusive indie games, so those hoping to get the game on Steam will have to wait a bit longer. Wattam costs $19.99 across both platforms, and pre-orders for it opened today. While this title does not have any pre-order bonuses, those who do decide to put money towards the game before it comes out will get a 15% discount.

Like Katamari Damacy before it, Wattam is an incredibly unique and weird experience. This puzzle game has players interacting with over 100 characters that populate their island to complete various tasks. It's a bit hard to explain but really fun to watch and play.

A brand new trailer was released alongside this release date announcement, and you can watch that below. On December 17, Wattam will release for both PC via the Epic Games Store and PS4. DualShockers has checked out Wattam many times over the years, so you can check out our previews from both PAX West 2017, PAX East 2018and PAX East 2019.
