The documentary film KAZ: Pushing the Virtual Divide, that will focus on Gran Turismo‘s creator Kazunori Yamauchi, will premiere on Hulu on January 22nd, and today Sony Computer Entertainment published a trailer.

This film is about drive. It’s about the passion and creative drive of Kazunori Yamauchi, the architect behind Gran Turismo’s birth and breath-taking fifteen-year evolution.

It’s hard not to feel an enormous respect for Yamauchi-san and his contribution to the video game industry and raging games. Not only he created  one of the most successful racing franchises in history, but he’s also an accomplished racer himself having taken part successfully to several races, including the prestigious Nurburgring 24h. Few game developers can boast that kind of accomplishment.

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
