A ton of new announcements for Cyberpunk 2077 were made by developers CD Projekt Red earlier today. Not only is a new Edgerunners update now live on all platforms, the first DLC expansion “Phantom Liberty” also received a release window of 2023. Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves will be back again to reprise his role as the player’s main companion, Johnny Silverhand.

The official trailer for the Phantom Liberty DLC showcases an all-new district of Night City, which seems to be modeled after American Spy Thriller stories. There is even an Oath the player has to make to protect the US, but things don’t go as smoothly as expected. The new expansion will be limited to both next-generation consoles, such as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This means if you own Cyberpunk 2077 on a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you won't be able to purchase and play the upcoming DLC.

Along with the trailer, a new Night City Wire Special Episode was released to give more insight into the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 spinoff anime, Edgerunners, and how it is going to be integrated into the game with new outfits, equipment, and photo mode features.

A special mini-game, called Roach Race, can also be now played using the arcade machines located in the city, and the wardrobe feature that was announced but never included in the final build is now finally available.

Owners of the Xbox Series S will be pleased to know that a new performance mode is also included in the new patch. Players will be able to enjoy the new updates and every future expansion at 60 FPS in 900p with Dynamic Resolution Scaling. PC modders have also gotten a REDmod free DLC with an extensive amount of official modding tools for players to create their own experiences in Night City, in addition to many new perks added related to game content or the overall architecture of the game in preparation for the migration to new-gen consoles.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners - the upcoming anime spin-off series will premiere exclusively on Netflix from September 13th. Along with the video game, players can also enjoy The Tabletop RPG game Cyberpunk RED and its expansion kits, and discover the answers to many secrets from the original game. The update also includes a cross-progression feature, so players can keep up with future game updates on any platform they desire.
