Daedalic Entertainment and Kalypso Media are currently developing a video game adaption of Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth, and have split its release into three different episode. Ken Follett's: The Pillars of Earth Book 1 released back in August. Today, the developers released Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth Book 2 on PC and stated that they plan on releasing the title on PS4 and Xbox One by the end of January 2018.

This second installment continues the story of the original, with main characters Jack and Aliena now being mature and grown up, fighting to save Kingsbridge from the malicious William Hamleigh. The developers claim that many conflicts will come to a head in this book, resulting in the player having to make some tough choices that may even impact who lives and dies. Kevin Mentz, one of the Game Designers at Daedalic Entertainment, had the following to say about this episode:

"It’s a much faster paced, more action-packed experience. But we did our best to maintain focus on the poignant storytelling from Ken Follett’s original while adding more interactive moments.”

The developers also wanted to remind players that those who purchased the physical retail version of Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth will automatically gain access to Book 2 and Book 3 upon their release without any additional costs. Kalypso Media also revealed that they are currently planning to release Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth Book 3 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in May 2018.

You can check out the launch trailer for Book 2 below. Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth Book 1 is currently available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One while Book 2 is currently only available on PC, with console versions coming in January. Meanwhile, Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth Book 3 will conclude the saga in May 2018.
