Killer Instinct debuted on Xbox One back in November as a free-to-play fighter that was sure to give every new console owner something to play, along with plenty of paid options for those that wanted access to the full game and its roster of characters and maps. However, that doesn't leave out F2P gamers from experiencing all of the characters, just one at a time.

Thunder is the latest character to be joining the F2P roster for Killer Instinct, as the character is now swapping in for Sabrewulf in the game (previously replacing Jago) for those with free access to the game, until the next character comes into rotation. Thunder (known previously as "Chief Thunder" in the arcade edition of the original Killer Instinct) is known for his deadly tomahawk-based attacks, along with his swift fury and grapples.

Killer Instinct always includes one free character for those playing the F2P version, but also includes various paid editions and bundles for those looking to access the full roster of KI characters and maps from the game, with Thunder now being available as the free character.
